The L. Family’s Portrait Session at the Jesup Path in Acadia

Back in August I had the pleasure of working with Josh and his cute family: wife Laura, daughter Raina, and furbaby Moose. They came all the way from Pennsylvania to visit Acadia National Park and the surrounding area. They had never been to Bar Harbor, so they weren’t sure where they might want to do their family portrait session. The key was to find a location that would allow dogs. While there are many dog friendly places in Acadia National Park, there are a few spots that aren’t. I know the area well, so I suggested several options to them. They decided on the Jesup Trail, which is near the Wild Gardens of Acadia.

I love photographing in and around the Jesup Trail! The tall grass and birch trees make for such a lovely backdrop that’s entirely different from Acadia’s famous coast. Plus, the Jesup Trail is dog friendly! I had always thought this would be a perfect spot to take a family, so I was excited that the L. family chose this location.

I loved working with Josh and his family. They were so easy and comfortable in front of the camera. I later found out that they often have family pictures done while on vacation (what a great idea). It made perfect sense that even little Raina was a pro, since she might have done this a few times before.

I’m so glad that Josh reached out to me. I enjoyed spending the afternoon showing Josh and his family some of my favorite spots in the area. I hope they had a wonderful time and will return soon!

Enjoy some of my favorite moments from my time together with the L. family below!
