We first met Dana, Ross, and their daughters when their youngest was just over a month old. We had such a great time photographing them that we were thrilled when Dana reached out to schedule another family portrait session.
Like their last session, we planned to shoot at their home in Holden, Maine. This time, though, we aimed for peak fall—last time was late in the season. On the day of the session, the weather was perfect: warm enough for everyone to be comfortable with vibrant, peak-season foliage. A pile of fallen leaves even gave the girls a chance to play, which made for some great candid shots.
We had a fantastic time with this energetic family. After capturing a few classic portraits, we let the girls run around and play, which led to some of our favorite candid moments (you’ll see what we mean below).
