Katie and Andre’s Bangor Maine Wedding

Some relationships take time to grow, and Katie and Andre’s story is one of them. They met in college through a mutual friend and remained friends for years before becoming a couple. After thirteen years of knowing each other and six years as partners, their wedding day felt like a natural continuation of the life they had already built together.

They were married at Katie’s parents’ home in Bangor, Maine, with a small group of close family and friends. In the months leading up to the wedding, her parents spent countless hours planting, landscaping, and taking on projects around the property. By the time the day arrived, every part of the space reflected the care that had gone into it.

The day began with Katie getting ready upstairs while Andre got ready downstairs. There was a quiet anticipation in the house as everything came together. Once they were both ready, they shared a first look in front of the shade garden. It was one of the few moments they had alone, and you could see the nerves settle as soon as they saw each other. Not long after, they stood in front of their guests and exchanged vows.

While everyone enjoyed cocktail hour, we walked the property with Katie and Andre for portraits. Having everything in one place gave the day a relaxed pace and allowed them to stay present with each other. It was especially meaningful to photograph them in a location that already holds so much history for their family.

Inside, the living room had been transformed into the reception space, filled with flowers and thoughtful details. The evening continued with a great meal, a couple of dances, and many heartfelt toasts. Nothing felt rushed. It felt like a gathering at home, centered on the people who know them best.

Katie and Andre’s wedding was a true reflection of who they are: intentional, welcoming, and focused on time with the people they love.  It was a pleasure to work with them, and we’re so happy they asked us to be a part of their special day.
