Join us in congratulating Abigail and Zach! These two first met in high school, but it wasn’t until years later that their story truly began. After Zach returned home from serving in the Air Force and Abigail graduated from college, their paths crossed again. Abigail was friends with Zach’s sister, and as they started spending more time together, their connection grew. Before long, they started dating.
A few years later, Zach planned to propose during a trip to New York City. When Abigail wasn’t feeling well and the day ended earlier than expected, he shifted gears. The following day, Zach proposed and Abigail said yes! Later, they realized they had gotten engaged on what would have been Abigail’s grandparents’ 65th wedding anniversary, an unexpected and meaningful coincidence.
Their wedding day took place on a bright July afternoon in Bangor, Maine. We began the day documenting both Abigail and Zach as they got ready with their wedding parties. There was an undeniable sense of anticipation as everyone prepared, and soon we were on our way to Saint John’s Catholic Church for their early afternoon ceremony. Abigail and Zach chose the church for its beauty and for the importance of celebrating a Catholic ceremony. The stained glass windows and historic architecture provided a beautiful backdrop as they exchanged their vows.
After the ceremony, while guests made their way to the reception, we stayed behind for portraits with Abigail and Zach inside the church. This quiet time gave them a chance to slow down and take in the moment together before the rest of the day continued.
We then made our way to the Hilton Garden Inn for the reception. After a fun first dance and several toasts, we stole them away for a few portraits around the property. The lighting was beautiful, and we loved the chance to spend a little more time with just Abigail and Zach before the reception moved into full swing. The rest of the evening was filled with laughter and a lively dance floor.
We had a lot of fun working with Abigail and Zach. We wish them much love and happiness together. Enjoy some of our favorite images from throughout their day.
