Lauren reached out to us because, although she and her husband, Paul, live in Washington, D.C., they were married several years ago at her grandmother’s property in Lamoine, Maine. The location holds deep meaning for them, and now that they’re a family of four, they wanted to share it with their children. A family portrait session felt like the perfect way to do that.
The day of the session was beautiful. When we arrived, Lauren and Paul gave us a tour of the property and shared memories from their wedding day. Once the kids were ready, we got started. Since their children are still quite young, we kept the formal photos brief. Then we simply let the moments unfold—Astrid ran and played while baby Lincoln snuggled with mom or dad (being four months old, he was pretty content doing just that), and we captured all the joy as it happened.
Later, we made our way to the private beach on the property. The kids had a great time dipping their feet in the ocean, and we loved capturing the candid moments that came with it. We wrapped up the session back on the lawn where we started, ending the day with lots of laughs and snuggles.
We’re so honored Lauren and Paul asked us to photograph this meaningful family session. It was a joy working with them and their children, and we hope to see them again in the future. Below are some of our favorite moments from their portrait session in Lamoine, Maine.
