Maria and Evan’s Wedding at Willowdale Estate in Massachusetts

Join us in congratulating Maria and Evan! You might remember them from their engagement session in Acadia National Park a couple summers ago. This past January, they were married at the lovely Willowdale Estate in Topsfield, Massachusetts – exactly seven years to the day since their first date (and first kiss). How cool is that?

In fact, Maria and Evan’s story is a story of firsts. They met on the first day of class during the spring semester of their freshman year at Cornell University. Evan walked into his introductory physics class, and there was this girl (Maria, of course) sitting in his assigned seat. Rather than make Maria switch seats, Evan was so struck by her beauty that he sat next to her and started a conversation. They talked all class and eventually met for lunch the next day. That lunch date started it all, and seven years later Maria and Evan were saying, “I do” in front of their family and friends.

We knew Maria and Evan’s wedding was going to be a lot of fun, because we had such a great time photographing their engagement pictures. Their wedding was years in the making (Evan first contacted us in March of 2021), and it was a blast to see it all finally come together. Anytime you work with a couple for that long, it becomes something special, and we were so happy for Maria and Evan when the big day finally arrived.

On their wedding day, Maria and Evan were blessed with gorgeous weather – especially for winter in New England. Temperatures were in the 40’s, and the sun shone all day long. Though sadly there was little-to-no snow, it meant we could take the happy couple outside for pictures without freezing. Willowdale Estate is such a beautiful wedding venue, we were lucky to have nice weather so we could take advantage of the grounds, which were immaculate even in winter.

All throughout the day, Maria and Evan were both so happy and excited. Friends and family had joined them from all over the world, and the feeling of love was everywhere to be found. Sometimes, couples get pulled in opposite directions on a wedding day, but not Maria and Evan. Rarely did they leave each other’s company, which was really cute to watch. They also won this season’s award for “longest time spent on the dance floor by a couple,” dancing and partying the night away and savoring every second. We love it when couples are so inseparable on their wedding day, and we’re sure Maria and Evan are equally inseparable each and every day.

After nearly two years, it is hard to believe that Maria and Evan are finally married. We couldn’t be more happy for them, and we’re so glad their well-laid wedding plans went off without a hitch. We are thankful for having been asking to photograph their wedding, and we wish them a lifetime of happiness together.
