Shannon and Drew’s Wedding at the Maine Maritime Museum

Say hello to Shannon and Drew, two awesome people who were brought together by their mutual love of indie folk music. These days, in addition to music, they enjoy spending time reading, playing board games, and kicking butt at trivia night. They’re also fur-parents to their dog, Maisie, who keeps them busy with walks, play time, and doggy kisses.

Speaking of Maisie, not only was she the dog of honor during Shannon and Drew’s wedding ceremony, she also had a big role to play in their engagement. During a weekend away in Vermont, Drew slipped the ring into one of Maisie’s tennis balls. The three of them (Shannon, Drew, and Maisie) sat on the floor, rolling the ball around, and you could hear something jingling inside. Shannon, not sure what it might be, was worried that Maisie might eat it – whatever it was. She looked inside the ball and there was the ring!

Evidently, this ring had been passed down to Drew’s grandmother from a close friend of hers. She had been holding onto it since the 1970’s, and it had a lot of history. Now it has even more history!

Shannon and Drew were married during a beautiful ceremony at the Maine Maritime Museum just one month shy of their three year anniversary. The two of them looked so happy to finally be getting married, and Maisie looked pretty okay with it too.

Because Shannon and Drew have so many people who love them, they needed a giant tent to fit everyone during the reception. Fortunately, the Maine Maritime Museum has room for such a tent. So there, under a giant tent (filled to capacity) along the banks of the Kennebec River, Shannon and Drew danced and partied with all their family and friends. They treated everyone to a lobster feast, and, instead of cake, they had an ice cream bar, which was perfect on a hot July day.

Shannon and Drew are so much fun to be around, you can’t help but laugh when you’re with them. We really enjoyed photographing their wedding, and we wish them a lifetime of happiness and laughter together! Below are some of our favorite pictures from throughout their special day.
