Shadi and Matt’s Microwedding in Bar Harbor, Maine

Say hello to Shadi and Matt. They traveled from Boston to get married at a private residence in Trenton, Maine overlooking the Mount Desert Narrows. One of their earliest trips together was to Maine, and they wanted to not only remember that moment but also take advantage of Maine’s natural beauty. Their immediate family shared in their day, with Matt’s father presiding over a heartfelt ceremony.

We always enjoy photographing intimate weddings. They are a great way for couples to celebrate with their closest family and friends in a relaxed atmosphere, without all the hubbub and stress of a traditional wedding day. Of course, we love photographing large weddings, too, and they have their own charm. But small weddings are so cozy and sincere. It’s nice to photograph a mixture of both throughout a wedding season, and we were so glad when Shadi and Matt asked us to be a part of their day.

Shadi and Matt knew from the get-go that they wanted to spend their day with family, not coordinating an event. So, they brought in expert help from A Family Affair of Maine to plan and pull off their wedding. Whether you’re planning a big wedding or something on the smaller side, it’s always nice to have an expert by your side helping you plan and design a day that matches your vision. The team at A Family Affair of Maine did such a nice job helping Shadi and Matt plan from afar, and the space was thoughtfully and beautifully appointed with little details throughout.

After the ceremony, we traveled with Shadi and Matt to Acadia National Park for pictures, specifically the cliffs along the Ocean Path Trail. The two of them were so cute together, and we had a lot of fun taking pictures along the rocky coastline. The day was a little chilly for August, but Matt did a great job keeping Shadi warm.

Shadi and Matt finished their day with a dinner party back in Trenton. Fat Kid Culinary Productions prepared a fantastic, multi-course meal for the happy couple and their family, and everyone had a great time long into the night.
