Sarah and Ryan’s Maine Sunday River Wedding at Jordan Terrace

Sarah and Ryan love being active and spending time outdoors. They met while playing co-ed softball, and they got engaged at the top of Mount Willard in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. So, when planning their wedding, these avid hikers and skiers wanted to capture that outdoor spirit and share it with their family and friends. To that end, they chose to get married at Sunday River, one of the northeast’s premier ski resorts located in Newry, Maine.

Sunday River features eight different peaks, and wedding couples can choose between three of them when picking a spot for their ceremony. Sarah and Ryan were married at Jordan Terrace, which is part of the Jordan Hotel. The Terrace and the greater Jordan grounds offer sweeping views of Sunday River’s western peaks, making for a truly spectacular location – especially during the fall months.

Speaking of fall, being from Maine, Sarah and Ryan knew exactly when to get married. They picked the perfect weekend for peak foliage, and the entire resort was just popping with color. Sarah and Ryan said their “I dos” during a heartfelt ceremony surrounded by the most beautiful canopy of yellow and red and orange. It was exactly what you’d hope for when planning a fall wedding.

Right near Jordan Terrace is Sliders Restaurant, and that’s where Sarah and Ryan hosted their reception. The restaurant is a nice space to begin with, but Sarah and her family truly brought it to life. Sarah had spent countless hours designing and crafting all manner of decorations, from centerpieces to place settings – you name it. It all came together wonderfully! There was even a doughnut wall (or donut, if you prefer), so guests could graze throughout the evening and keep their energy up for more dancing.

We had a great time spending the day with Sarah and Ryan, and it was a joy photographing their wedding.
