Malorie and Spencer’s Maine Wedding at the Samoset Resort

Join us in congratulating Malorie and Spencer! These two first met in 2010 through a mutual friend, but it wasn’t until six years later that they started dating. Everything changed when they took a trip to Las Vegas with a group of friends. Spencer decided to take the plunge, and he asked Malorie to dance with him. The rest, as they say, is history.

We first met this amazing couple back in 2019 when we photographed their engagement session at Fort Williams in Cape Elizabeth. At the time, they were planning to get married on their fourth anniversary – September 5, 2020 (which coincidentally would have coincided with our ten-year wedding anniversary). However, like so many people, Malorie and Spencer were forced to postpone their wedding due to COVID-19. Fortunately, though they couldn’t have the date they wanted, they were still able to keep their venue, the Samoset Resort in Rockport, Maine.

We started coverage while Malorie and Spencer were getting ready. As you might expect, everyone was excited for this couple who had waited over a year to finally have their big moment. All throughout the day, neither Malorie nor Spencer could keep from smiling and breaking out into laughter. We were so happy for them!

The weather was beautiful, with plenty of sun. Despite being September on the Maine coast, the temperature was comfortable. It really was perfect, because you never know what you’re going to get once September rolls around. Malorie and Spencer were married during a heartfelt ceremony overlooking the Rockland Breakwater and Lighthouse. Marianne Vold, the officiant, did a wonderful job interweaving little stories and annecdotes into the procedings, making it all the more special.

The rest of the day was filled with all sorts of fun and excitement. There were cocktails and toasts followed by dinner, great company, and plenty of dancing. Malorie and Spencer had so much fun that they rarely left the dance floor once it opened. We couldn’t blame them, because their DJs did such a great job laying down one of the best wedding mixes we’ve heard in years.
