Lauren and Pete’s Maine Wedding at the Nonantum in Kennebunkport

A few weeks back, Lauren and Pete were married on a gorgeous afternoon at St. Ann’s Episcopal Church in Kennebunkport, Maine. You might remember these two from their engagement session in-and-around Kennebunkport last summer. When last we worked with Lauren and Pete, Matt and I had a lot of fun. So, we were really looking forward to working with them again and photographing their wedding!

Lauren had rented a private residence nearby the church, where she and her bridesmaids could get ready. The whole house was filled with people, all of them exited for the day to come. Lauren looked so happy, as she got her hair and makeup done. With everyone around, there were several fun moments to photograph. My favorite was when Lauren’s dad saw her in her dress for the first time. He had such a great smile!

Meanwhile, Pete and the guys got ready over at the Nonantum. Pete had gotten everyone matching lobster ties, which I absolutely loved.

Soon it was time for the ceremony. St. Ann’s is a beautiful, old church built from sea stones quarried nearby. It has such character and warmth, and it’s really a neat place to get married. Lauren and Pete couldn’t stop smiling and laughing throughout the ceremony (though Revered Cheney didn’t seem to mind). When Lauren and Pete finally kissed and made things official, the whole church erupted with joyful sounds of approval.

From there, everyone made the short trip down the road to the Nonantum Resort for the reception. The Nonantum had been lovingly set up to include all sorts of decorations, from flowers, to lights, to little table accents. Because they were getting married near the ocean, Lauren and Pete had a bit of an ocean theme to their wedding. All over the resort, there were wooden buoys, large and small. The evening was filled with toasts, mingling, and lots and lots of dancing. This group really loved to dance, and nearly everyone made it onto the dance floor at some point. It’s always fun to photograph dance pictures, so Matt and I had a great time capturing all of the mayhem.

It was a lot of fun working with Lauren and Pete again, and we wish them much happiness now and in the future. Below are some of my favorite pictures from throughout their wedding. Enjoy!
