Katie and Dan’s Maine Wedding at French’s Point

Congratulations, Katie and Dan! These two were recently married at French’s Point, a breathtaking estate overlooking the ocean in Stockton Springs, Maine. Katie and Dan met while working for the daytime talk show, the Chew. There, they shared an office and quickly became best friends, developing a fun and silly dynamic together. They both love to laugh (and make each other laugh), and Matt and I had so much fun photographing their wedding.

For Katie and her bridesmaids, the day started with hair and makeup upstairs in the “getting ready” suite. Katie looked so happy and beautiful as she got ready surrounded by her closest friends. I especially loved her sleeved dress, which was imprinted with an elegant leafwork pattern that dipped gracefully in the back. I wish more brides would opt for sleeves, as it’s such a classy and timeless look!

Dan and his groomsmen finished getting dressed on the main floor of the estate. There, they celebrated with a bottle of champagne and cigars, all the while having a great time. Dan had decided on tuxedos and bow ties for him and the guys, which was the perfect look. While a nice dress suit always looks good, there’s just something about a tuxedo that says, “I’m here for a wedding.”

Soon, it was time for a first look under the arching branches of the iconic Family Tree. Originally planted in 1885, the Family Tree has been cared for and loved by generations of families living at and visiting French’s Point. It is a symbol of the estate’s enduring legacy, and it seemed like the perfect place to kick start Katie and Dan’s forever commitment to one another. The sun was bright, but the Tree provided perfect shade as Katie and Dan saw each other for the first time. Their expressions were priceless, and it was clear they couldn’t wait to get married!

Fortunately, they didn’t have long to wait. In front of the gazebo, Katie and Dan said their vows and became husband and wife. Family and friends had come from all over to share in the moment, and, when Katie and Dan kissed for the first time, the crowd erupted into applause and shouts of joy.

The reception took place under the tent. Family and friends gave heartfelt toasts, followed by dinner and parent dances. Before the festivities got too crazy, however, Matt and I “borrowed” the couple for pictures down on the beach. The light was gorgeous and perfect for pictures, and Katie looked so beautiful there on the rocks. I simply adored her long, flowing veil, which Dan’s mother made. I should also mention that Dan looked pretty snazzy, too! We snapped several pictures and then headed back up to the tent for cake and dancing.

Matt and I had a lot of fun photographing Katie and Dan’s wedding, and we’re so glad they asked us to be a part of their special day. We wish them much happiness in the years to come! Below are some of my favorite pictures from throughout their day. Enjoy!
