Kat and Jon’s Camden Maine Wedding at 16 Bay View

Join us in congratulating Emma and Gerry! You might remember this cute couple from their engagement session in Acadia National Park last fall. Just a few weeks ago, they tied the knot at the First Congregational Church in Camden, Maine. It was the culmination of seven wonderful years together that all began at a summer camp in Michigan.

Gerry proposed to Emma during a ski trip to Sunday River Resort, and Emma’s family has a home in Camden. So, Maine was the natural choice when it came time to select a wedding destination. We love photographing in Camden whenever we get the chance. It is an iconic Maine town with beautiful harbor views, and we were so happy that Emma and Gerry chose us to photograph their big day!

Emma got ready at her parents’ house, while Gerry got ready at the nearby Camden Riverhouse Hotel & Inn. Both locations were buzzing with excitement, as everyone got ready for the big moment.

Like so many Saturdays this summer, it was rainy – but Emma and Gerry didn’t let that get them down. Although they had originally planned to get married in the Camden Amphitheatre, they had the perfect backup plan. They did their first look inside the Camden Public Library, followed by the most heartfelt ceremony at the First Congregational Church. One of our favorite things about Emma and Gerry is how full of laughter they are, and their ceremony was no exception. It was a celebration of joy in the truest sense of the word, with humor and laughter throughout.

Fortunately, the rain let up for the second half of the day. This meant we were able to snap a few pictures near Camden Harbor following the ceremony. But, more importantly, it also meant things dried out for the tented reception back at Emma’s family home. The reception was just as joyous as the ceremony, with great company and lots of dancing. We, of course, had a lot of fun photographing all of the festivities.
