Erin and Stacie’s Maine Wedding at the Atlantic Oceanside in Bar Harbor

The 2022 wedding season was a lot of fun. We met so many great people and traveled to all sorts of beautiful places. Even though it was a lot of hard work, we really didn’t want it to end! That said, if it had to end, we couldn’t have imagined a better way to finish off the season than to spend a day photographing Erin and Stacie’s wedding. These lovely ladies are two of the most spectacular people you will ever meet. The love they have for each other, and the love their families have for each of them, was such an amazing thing to witness and capture.

Erin and Stacie first started dating about three years ago, and every year since they have commemorated the occasion by celebrating their “first date” weekend. This year was different, however, because they celebrated their first date weekend by getting married! Erin grew up visiting Acadia National Park with her family, and it came to be an important place for her. So, when it came time to decide where to get married, the conversation naturally gravitated toward Maine and Mount Desert Island. It made all the more sense to get married near Acadia, because Erin and Stacie got engaged in Mount Rainier National Park. They thought it would be fun to bookend their engagement by tying the knot in a national park on the other side of the country.

Speaking of their engagement, Erin and Stacie have such a good engagement story. In August of 2021, they took a trip to Washington State. They both were hoping the other would propose on the trip, but Erin knew Stacie wouldn’t be able to. That’s because Stacie wanted to ask permission from Erin’s parents in person, but they lived so far away it was unlikely to happen anytime soon. Knowing this, Erin took matters into her own hands and proposed to Stacie on a secluded, lightly used trail near Mount Rainier. Stacie of course said yes, and they celebrated with mimosas. But that’s not all… Shortly thereafter, they continued on another trail, which ended near a lake at the base of a mountain. It was then Stacie confided that she had secretly flown to visit Erin’s parents the weekend prior, and had gotten permission. She then popped out an engagement ring of her own and proposed to Erin! Talk about being on the same page. Some people are just meant to be together. As Stacie tells it, she had known for well over a year beforehand that Erin was her person.

Now, some people might be a little hesitant to get married on the Maine coast in November, as it’s not always the warmest or driest of months. But Erin and Stacie went for it and were rewarded with one of the nicest, warmest November weekends we can remember. Rather than being 30 degrees and rainy, the temperature was in the mid-60’s and there was hardly a cloud in the sky. Clearly it was meant to be, and everyone was grateful for the lovely weather.

For our part, we had such a great time spending the day with Erin and Stacie. Their joy and excitement were evident all throughout the day, which made for some really nice pictures. We wish them all the happiness in the world, and we want to thank them for capping off our wedding season in such a perfect way.
