Ellie and Dylan’s Elopement in Northeast Harbor, Maine

Ellie and Dylan met during their freshman year of college. Their friendship grew over the next four years, and after graduation they started dating. They later traveled the world separately, but they reconnected upon returning back to the states. Since then, they’ve been inseparable.

When they first started planning their wedding, Ellie and Dylan briefly considered somewhere on Mount Desert Island because the area holds a special place in their hearts. Dylan proposed on top of Sargent Mountain in Acadia National Park, and Ellie grew up spending many a happy summer at her family home in Northeast Harbor.

However, due to the many logistics involved with an out-of-state wedding, they decided to get married closer to home – in New York state. Of course, COVID-19 then derailed their plans, and they decided to postpone their big celebration until next year.

Ellie and Dylan knew they still wanted to get married this year, so they decided to have the Maine wedding they always wanted, just on a smaller scale. They chose Ellie’s family home in Northeast Harbor as the location for their special day. Though Ellie and Dylan were of course disappointed that they had to change their plans, getting married in Maine was a wonderful silver lining.

Ellie and Dylan had a beautiful day for their wedding. The sun was shining and the temperature was just about perfect for early June. The ceremony was officiated by Dylan’s sister (who did a great job), and everything took place on the lawn overlooking Northeast Harbor. Ellie and Dylan were joined by their immediate families (and many Zoom guests), and they said their vows while their dog, Maggie, looked on from within the house.

We loved spending the evening with this awesome couple and their families. We wish Ellie and Dylan much happiness, and we hope they have a wonderful celebration with all their friends and family next April! Below are some of our favorite photos from throughout their wedding. Enjoy!
