Chelsea and Mike’s Maine Wedding at the Atlantic Oceanside

Join us in congratulating Chelsea and Mike! Like many couples we’ve worked with in recent years, they met online during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and quickly bonded over their shared love of the outdoors. When travel opened up again, one of their first trips together was to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. That trip started a tradition they’ve continued every year since.

During that first visit, they created a hike that links Dorr Mountain and Cadillac Mountain. The route connects several distinct trails, spans about 7.5 miles, and offers some of the best views in the park. It soon became a yearly tradition. When it came time to propose, Mike knew he wanted to do it there. On a sunny day near the final mile, beside a small waterfall and reflection pool, he asked and Chelsea said yes. After hearing that story, it was easy to see why they chose Bar Harbor for their wedding.

We first met Chelsea and Mike soon after the proposal when they returned early in the season to tour wedding venues. While they were in town, they wanted to do their engagement session, so we headed to Jordan Pond and the cliffs along the Ocean Path. With the park still quiet for the season, it felt like we had the area to ourselves. They were relaxed, easy to photograph, and clearly enjoyed spending time together, which made us even more excited for their wedding day at the Atlantic Oceanside Hotel and Event Center.

Their wedding day was full of energy from start to finish. It began at the Willows, with Chelsea getting ready with her bridesmaids while Mike and his groomsmen were downstairs doing the same. Once they were ready, Chelsea and Mike shared a private first look in the side garden, where they exchanged personal vows. Before long, it was time for the ceremony, which included readings from both of their siblings. After spending the first part of cocktail hour with their guests, we stole them away for portraits on the beach. That evening brought one of the most memorable sunsets we’ve seen at the property. The night finished with a packed dance floor and nonstop energy from their guests.
