Carson and Bickham’s Micro Wedding in Corea, Maine

It was just before New Year’s, and Carson and her mother were picking out wine for the upcoming festivities. While at the wine shop, they noticed a young man doing tastings. So they went over to see what he had, and eventually they all got to chatting. After leaving the shop, Carson told her mother, “That’s the type of guy I’m trying to date!” It was only a few weeks later that Carson was on Bumble, and she recognized Bickham. She swiped right and messaged him asking if he remembered her. He did, and they went out on their first date the very next night!

Fast forward a few years later. Bickham suggested that they have cocktails at the the same location as their first date. Carson didn’t think anything of it, because they often went there. Afterward, Bickham further suggested that they go to their favorite pizza place for dinner. However, to get there, they had to walk past Carson’s parents’ house. Once outside the home, Bickham suggested they stop to say hi. Carson reminded him that her parents were out and kept on walking. Well, she didn’t get very far before Bickham said, “But wait, I got you this!” She turned to see him holding an engagement ring. Her parents’ dog started barking, and she looked up to see her sister and brother-in-law peaking over the porch. Bickham had planned the whole thing!

When it came time to plan their wedding, Carson and Bickham considered many different locations, but none seemed to be just right. Then the pandemic hit, and they had to reconsider their plans again. Bickham’s family owns a summer home in Maine, and, in the end, that’s where they decided to get married. Honestly, I don’t know what else they were considering, but they couldn’t have decided on a more perfect location. The home is an old, converted lighthouse that sits on the ocean with beautiful views from three sides. It’s one of the prettiest homes we’ve photographed, and it was such a privilege!

Carson and Bickham looked so happy as they said their “I do’s.” The weather was a bit cooler than normal for July, but no one minded. Carson and Bickham were surrounded by their immediate families and many Zoom guests, and that’s what mattered most. After the ceremony, everyone went inside for wine, hors d’oeuvres, and toasts. Then, a bit later, we took the happy couple out for pictures and had a great time exploring the property.
