Caroline and Steve’s Maine Wedding at the Bar Harbor Inn

Congratulations, Caroline and Steve! These two were married on a beautiful September afternoon at the Bar Harbor Inn, one of our favorite wedding venues on Mount Desert Island. The sun was shining, and it wasn’t too hot. It was really the perfect weather for a wedding!

Caroline and Steve met three years ago, and in their spare time they like to travel, play pickleball, attend concerts, and snuggle their fur baby, Fitzy. One Easter morning, they planned an Easter egg hunt for Fitzy. Fitzy sniffed all around and found one very special egg – the one that had an engagement ring inside. Fortunately, Fitzy didn’t think the ring was a treat and eat it, and Steve’s proposal went as planned.

Caroline is originally from Maine, and she wanted to return to the state to get married. She and Steve had visited Bar Harbor on vacation a number of times, and it was an easy decision to get married there. The Bar Harbor Inn is a lovely spot, with great views of the harbor and its smaller outlying islands. We always enjoying photographing at the Inn when we get the chance.

Both Caroline and Steve got ready offsite at a nearby Airbnb. They didn’t want to see each other, however, and they got ready in different rooms. Then, Matt and I coordinated a way to get them both to the Inn, so they could have their first look in the Inn’s side flower garden. They were both so happy to see each other all dressed up for the first time, and Fitzy even joined in toward the end for a few pictures with mom and dad. He was such a cutie in his little bowtie.

Adam from MDI Weddings officiated an intimate and heartfelt ceremony, and before long Caroline and Steve had sealed the deal with a kiss. We took the happy couple around the area for pictures near the water, and then it was time for food, cake, and dancing inside the Inn’s Reading Room.

We had a great time spending the day with Caroline and Steve, and we wish them much happiness now and in the future. Below are some of our favorite pictures from throughout their wedding day. Take a look!
