Breanna and Austin’s Maine Wedding at the Bar Harbor Inn

Breanna and Austin celebrated their wedding on a beautiful June day at the Bar Harbor Inn & Spa in Bar Harbor, Maine. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they planned a small, intimate destination wedding along the Maine coast and turned the occasion into a memorable trip for everyone who joined them.

Their story began in 2018 when they met at the University of Tennessee. Austin asked Breanna to be his date to his fall formal, and they have been together ever since. When they aren’t traveling or spending time outdoors, they enjoy playing video games together and relaxing at home with their cats.

Austin proposed during a trip to St. Thomas. Breanna had a feeling a proposal might be coming soon, but she wasn’t sure exactly when it would happen. On the first day of their trip, they headed down to a small beach, where Austin suggested taking a picture together. Breanna turned around to grab her camera, and when she turned back, Austin was down on one knee. She said yes, and they were able to spend the rest of their trip celebrating their engagement.

When Breanna and Austin started planning their wedding, Maine was an easy choice. Visiting Maine had been a bucket-list experience for both of their families, and they had heard so many wonderful things about Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. A small Bar Harbor destination wedding gave them the chance to celebrate their marriage while also sharing a place they had always wanted to visit with the people closest to them.

One of our favorite things about photographing small weddings is how much time couples are able to spend with each of their guests. Breanna and Austin’s wedding had exactly that kind of relaxed and personal atmosphere. The entire day felt like a meaningful gathering of the people who mattered most to them, and the Inn’s Porcupine Room was the perfect setting for a wedding like theirs.

Breanna and Austin were a pleasure to work with. We’re so happy they traveled all the way from Virginia to get married in Maine and that they asked us to capture it! We wish them much happiness. Check out some of our favorite photos from their Bar Harbor Inn wedding below.
