Alice and Henry’s Maine Wedding at the Bar Harbor Regency

Alice and Henry were married on a beautiful August afternoon at the Stone House at the Bar Harbor Regency, a lovely oceanside resort that overlooks Frenchman Bay. Henry grew up spending summers in nearby Northeast Harbor, and he and Alice have made Maine their vacation destination for years now. So, it was an easy decision for them to get married on Mount Desert Island, a place that is special to both of them.

These two were introduced by friends a number of years ago on Saint Patrick’s Day at a restaurant / pub in South Boston. They love doing anything active outdoors, such as hiking, biking, running, and golfing. During a vacation to Anna Maria Island in Florida, Henry suggested they go for a sunset walk along the beach. After walking for a while, he popped the question – and the rest is history!

On their wedding day, Alice and Henry were joined by their family and friends, all of whom were so excited for the happy couple. Alice’s friend, Kristine, officiated a heartfelt ceremony that featured words of love and encouragement, and before long Alice and Henry made it official with a kiss!

After dinner and toasts, we took Alice and Henry out for pictures. The Bar Harbor Regency has access to two rocky beaches, both of which can be great for photos. Because the tide was high, we walked with Alice and Henry to the farther beach, which gave us rocks and shore to stand on. It was a beautiful evening, and we were able to capture some of the pretty pinks and purples in the sky. One of our favorite things about the Bar Harbor Regency is that you can get pictures that look like they were taken in Acadia National Park, all without leaving the comfort of the resort.

The rest of the night was filled with dancing, fun, and a bit of mayhem. DJ Greg from Northeast Event Design put on a great show as always, and the dance floor was packed right up until the end. Alice and Henry finished off their perfect day with a sparkler sendoff, and we couldn’t have been more happy for them.
