Alex and Pat’s Maine Wedding at the Bar Harbor Inn

Please join us in congratulating Alex and Pat, who were married a few weeks ago at the Bar Harbor Inn! Their beautiful day officially kicked off our 2024 wedding season, and we couldn’t have imagined a better way to start what we hope turns out to be a wonderful year.

Alex and Pat have been together for over eight years. They first met in college at a party and were instantly drawn to each other. Alex would even describe it as love at first sight. A few months later, they officially started dating and have since shared many adventures. They graduated college together, supported each other through their first jobs, and welcomed their fur baby, Lemmy (also known as Lemdog, Bubby, and King Lemwich the 3rd), into their lives.

These two chose Bar Harbor to get married in part because that is where Pat proposed, along the Shore Path. Alex has always loved visiting Maine, and she introduced Pat to the state a few years ago. Their fondness for Acadia National Park and the Maine way of life (especially the bagels) made them want to share this special place with their family and friends.

On their big day, both Alex and Pat got ready in separate parts of the Inn – Alex with her mother and bridesmaids, and Pat with his groomsmen. Even though the forecast was mixed, the weather turned out to be beautiful, and Alex and Pat were married with the picturesque Porcupine Islands in the distance. After a heartfelt ceremony officiated by a close friend, it was time for dinner and dancing in the Inn’s Reading Room. We’ve photographed a number of weddings in the Reading Room over the years, and this group danced about as much as we’ve ever seen. It was wonderful to capture such a joyful moment as everyone joined in to celebrate with Alex and Pat.

We had a lot of fun photographing Alex and Pat’s wedding at this iconic Maine location, and we’re so glad they asked us to be a part of their special day. We wish Alex and Pat a lifetime of happiness together, and we hope you enjoy some of our favorite pictures from their wedding below!
