John’s Proposal to Tricia in Acadia National Park

John first reached out to us back in March. He and his girlfriend, Tricia, were planning to visit Maine in May, and John wanted to propose while they were here. Both John and Tricia love the outdoors, and they’ve traveled to many national parks together. So, John’s plan was to pop the question somewhere within Acadia National Park. Since John had never been to Acadia, Matt and I recommended one of our favorite spots in the park – Ship Harbor Trail.

If you’ve never been to Ship Harbor Trail, you owe it to yourself to check it out. It’s on the “quiet” side of Mount Desert Island, near Bass Harbor. It features walking trails, a rocky beach, and the beautiful cliffs for which Acadia is known. It’s private but accessible, and it was the perfect place for John to propose.

Tricia was completely surprised when John dropped down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She told us later that she was hoping John would propose sometime during their trip, but she wasn’t expecting it in that moment. She was thinking he might propose during dinner one night. You can tell by Tricia’s reaction that she was so incredibly happy – and of course she said, YES!

The four of us spent the rest of the evening exploring Ship Harbor Trail and taking pictures along the way. Tricia and John were so cute together, and they couldn’t stop laughing and smiling. It was almost as if they had just gotten engaged! Matt and I had a great time getting to know such a fun, adventurous couple, and we wish them much happiness. Below are some of our favorite pictures from throughout the day. Enjoy!
