It’s not every day that you book a couple for their wedding and also get to photograph their proposal, but that’s exactly what happened with Lauren and Bryan. They knew they wanted to get married this year, and although Bryan had already ordered Lauren’s ring, it hadn’t arrived yet—so they weren’t “officially” engaged. Still, with a 2026 wedding in mind, they knew it was time to start their venue search.
While visiting a few Bar Harbor area venues, we planned to meet them for lunch. After everything was scheduled, Bryan emailed us with an update: the ring had arrived early (he expected it in December) and he wanted to surprise Lauren with a proposal after lunch. We were happy to help. Together, we came up with a plan to suggest a short session after meeting up, then pass Bryan the ring at the right moment. It worked perfectly, and Lauren was completely surprised!
We’re so glad we had the chance to help Bryan pull this off. They’re a great couple, and we’re looking forward to working with them again this July at their wedding at the Bar Harbor Inn & Spa.
