Sammy and Alec first met during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic with a socially distant ice cream date at Honeycomb Creamery in Cambridge, MA. “We were seated 6 feet apart,” Sammy recalls, “but we quickly bonded over our shared love for live music, running, cycling, skiing, and, most importantly, our families.” By their third date, they had decided to join each other’s bubbles, and since then, they’ve rarely spent more than a few days apart.
Fast forward to March 2024, when Alec proposed to Sammy at the Boston Harbor Hotel. He had planned an entire weekend, complete with a bouquet of roses, champagne, and an engagement party with both their families. It was a perfect moment, celebrating everything they value: family, love, and togetherness.
As a couple, Sammy and Alec are always on the move. Whether hiking, skiing, biking, or walking their dog, Winnie, they love to explore. They also enjoy discovering new breweries, trying different restaurants, and attending concerts together.
Sammy and Alec had already planned a visit to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, so we took the opportunity to photograph their engagement session while they were in the area. Since they enjoy hiking, we suggested a location that involved a bit of light hiking. The Ship Harbor Trail in Southwest Harbor, part of Acadia National Park, was an ideal spot. It’s quieter than the main part of the park, making it perfect for their portrait session.
The day of their engagement shoot was lovely. We had a great time chatting with Sammy and Alec about their upcoming wedding, as we captured their portraits along the Ship Harbor Trail. They were a joy to work with—easy to laugh, always smiling, and clearly enjoying each other’s company.
