Billy and Baylee first met at the restaurant where they both worked. Billy said “Baylee started working there a few years after I had started. We didn’t know each other for a bit but one lucky Friday night Baylee got put on the schedule. At first we were interested in each other, but we agreed to be strictly friends. As we continued talking, though, we both knew that we were meant for each other.”
Billy’s original plan was to propose on an upcoming trip to Acadia National Park. However, as their four year anniversary approached he realized that he didn’t want to wait that long. Billy said that “on the night of our anniversary at sunset, I took her to the park we went to on our very first (and many after) dates and sat her down at our favorite bench in the park. As I got down on one knee I gave her a blue French horn, a reference to one of my favorite TV shows, How I Met Your Mother (we are both TV fanatics). I then proceeded to propose as I pulled out her ring in a golden snitch ring holder (her favorite movie/book is Harry Potter). She didn’t let a second go to waste to say yes!” As an extra surprise, Billy also gifted Baylee with an engagement session that would take place while they were in Bar Harbor. We were told she was very excited because even with being a photographer herself, they don’t have many photos together.
Baylee and Billy’s engagement session was the official start to our 2021 season. We couldn’t have started with a nicer couple! We visited Jordan Pond and the Ocean Path cliffs during their session. They were a lot of fun to work with, and it was obvious they love being together in whatever they do. We also enjoyed the chance to photograph in Acadia National Park while it was still quiet. We don’t often get the chance to work in the park before things get busy, so that was a real treat.
Billy and Baylee plan to have a long engagement and will be getting married in January of 2025. We wish them a wonderful day and much happiness! Check out some of our favorite photos from their engagement session below.
