Greta and Demetri’s Maine Elopement at Acadia National Park

Greta and Demetri first met when they were children. As they grew older, they started dating and eventually got engaged. They knew they wanted a small, intimate wedding with just the two of them, but it took some time to figure out where and when that wedding might be. Fast forward to this year, and everything fell into place. Greta and Demetri agreed to take new jobs in another state, which meant selling their house, packing everything up, and moving. Since their new jobs weren’t scheduled to start right away, they had some extra time off. So, they decided to take a road trip up the east coast and get married in Acadia National Park while visiting Maine. What a great idea!

These two had a gorgeous day for their fall elopement. The temperature was unusually warm for October, and Greta didn’t even have to pull out her extra layers (I always suggest couples bring extra layers, as Maine weather can be difficult to predict). Because Greta and Demetri wanted a mixture of coastal and wooded backdrops for their pictures, we started the day at the Wild Gardens of Acadia and the nearby Jesup Path. The leaves were almost at peak color, making this the perfect location for the first set of pictures.

From there, the four of us headed to the Ocean Path for a lovely ceremony overlooking Otter Cliff. We were met by their officiant, Barbara, who did such a nice job. We’ve worked with Barbara many times, and it is always a pleasure to work with her.

After a sweet ceremony, Greta and Demetri were officially married! They were both so incredibly happy, and it was a privilege to photograph that beautiful moment. We also go to sign their marriage license, just another benefit of there being two of us. We all said goodbye to Barbara and then spent the rest of the daylight hours taking pictures on the cliffs, finishing just as the sun began to set.

We had such a great time working with Greta and Demetri. They’re a sweet couple, and we wish them both much happiness! Below are some of our favorite pictures from throughout their elopement in Acadia National Park.
