Dawn and Patrick’s Elopement at the Bar Harbor Inn and Acadia

Congratulations, Dawn and Patrick! After seven years together, they tied the knot in front of their adult children and their children’s significant others at the iconic Bar Harbor Inn and Spa. Dawn and Patrick first visited Bar Harbor shortly after getting engaged and fell in love with the area. Not only did they want to get married there, they also wanted to introduce Maine to their children and share its beauty with them.

In their spare time, Dawn and Patrick enjoy golfing, listening to live music, and spending quiet moments by the water – which further explains their choice in wedding venue. With its views of Frenchman Bay and the Porcupine Islands, the Bar Harbor Inn is a great choice for couples looking to get married near the ocean, particularly with its easy access to the Shore Path and nearby cliffs.

On their wedding day, both Dawn and Patrick got ready at the Inn – Dawn in one of the Inn’s luxury suites and Patrick in a room on the other side of the main Inn. They were both so happy (and maybe a little nervous) in the moments leading up to the ceremony, and that happiness was all the more evident once they finally joined hands to say their vows with the ocean on one side and their children on the other.

After the ceremony, we traveled with Dawn and Patrick into Acadia National Park for a portrait session. We love it when couples opt to visit the Park on ther wedding day, because of the Park’s beautiful and diverse scenery. We first visited the cliffs along the Ocean Path near Otter Cliff, followed by a trip to the Jesup Path and Hemlock Loop Path near the Wild Gardens of Acadia. Dawn and Patrick were quick to laugh and so much fun to photograph. We really enjoyed spending the afternoon with them.

Once we were done with pictures in the Park, the happy couple joined up with the rest of their entourage for dinner and celebrating. We’re so glad we had the opportunity to photograph their special day, and we wish them much happiness now and in the future. Below are some of our favorite pictures from throughout their wedding. Enjoy!
