Katie and her family first visited Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park in 2017. They loved it so much that they came back to Maine this past July. However, this time they decided to schedule a family portrait session to help them remember their trip.
We were excited when we first received Katie’s email, because she mentioned that she wanted her family’s pictures to be taken around sunset. As photographers, we’re always trying to schedule our sessions when the light is the most flattering, which just so happens to be around sunset. It also doesn’t hurt that the sky can look really pretty at that time of day, with lots of color.
When deciding on a session location, Katie looked through our website and really liked Sand Beach and its nearby cliffs. This was perfect, because we love photographing at Sand Beach. It’s a bit different from the rest of Acadia, and it offers several backdrops all in one location. We were fortunate, because there weren’t many visitors on the beach even though the weather was beautiful. Katie’s daughters, Charlotte and Eliza, had fun running and playing in the sand, which helped to break up the session and keep everyone fresh and having fun.
We really enjoyed our time with this sweet family, and we hope they visit Maine again soon! While it was hard to pick, below are some of our favorite pictures from their family portrait session. Enjoy
