Katie and Mat’s Maine Wedding at the Bar Harbor Inn

After nearly eleven years together, Katie and Mat made it official during a beautiful wedding ceremony at the Bar Harbor Inn this past October. They were joined by their closest family and friends, who shared in the day from its earliest moments to the joyous reception later in the evening. The weather was gorgeous, and there was a continual air of happiness, love, and excitement. You couldn’t really have asked for a more perfect day.

Katie and Matt met in college thanks to mutual friends. In their spare time, they enjoying watching movies, traveling, trying new foods or restaurants, and completing projects around the house. Mat proposed during the holidays at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. The Gardens were dressed up for Christmas with a festival of lights, and it was such a fun and romantic experience. Katie of course said yes!

Katie grew up visiting Maine with her family, and she has always considered Bar Harbor to be a magical place. Once she was finally able to share Mount Desert Island with Mat, the two of them couldn’t stop imagining how and where they might get married on the island. The Bar Harbor Inn quickly rose to the top of the list. It is the perfect venue for the type of intimate wedding that Katie and Mat envisioned, with its charming Porcupine Room reception space, its views of the Porcupine Islands, and its easy access to nearby beaches and cliffs.
